We are the largest group of Society of Master Saddlers Registered and Qualified Saddle Fitters in North America with three Registered QSF’s and several trainees on staff to assist you with all your saddlery needs. Our qualifications mean that we have attended the SMS Intro to Saddle Fitting Course, undergone a minimum of five years apprenticeship with Master Saddlers and Qualified Saddle Fitters, and followed the non-brand biased training scheme governed under the Society of Master Saddlers in the United Kingdom. This training includes not only saddle fitting education but also saddle flocking, saddle construction, saddle making & repair courses. After completion of this training, at the recommendation of our individual mentors, and approval from the Society of Master Saddlers we are then allowed to set a final training course and assessing examination in the UK. This last examination is a week-long assessment of skills to obtain the brand of SMS, QSF. The exam its self is grueling and requires competency in saddle construction, conformation, tracing/template taking, evaluation and fit of dressage and an evaluation and fit of jump/gp saddles, all in written, oral, and practical from. Additionally, to retain our Qualified Saddle Fitters title we must undergo minimum continuing education every year. Our staff includes equine professionals from all backgrounds from professional riders, trainers, breeders, equine college professors, saddle & bridle makers, physio therapists, veterinary technician and riding instructors. The science of saddle fitting can be overwhelming, and ensuring that you and your horse are as comfortable as possible is our primary goal, we compete we understand. We guarantee the quality and professionalism of our work for three to six months from the date of original purchase, fitting or reflocking/adjustment, provided there have been no major changes to the horse's lifestyle and conformation (this is easily assessed from the records provided to you during your initial fitting). Horses can change shape over their lifetimes for many reasons; as such your saddle should be constantly evaluated throughout their career. Additionally, regular maintenance of wool flocking is required as it is a natural fiber.
